"One of the most difficult topics I addressed in my early years sharing John Paul II”s Theology of the Body was the Church’s teaching on IVF (in vitro fertilization, and other artificial reproductive technologies). I say difficult because my heart went out to the parent’s I met who desperately wanted to start a family, but for whatever reason were finding it difficult to conceive.
Many of them were told that artificial reproductive technologies were the only option open for couples with reproductive and gynecological health problems and concerns. What they were not told is that most Physicians have stopped looking for the causes of the conditions, and treatment is aimed only at the treatment of the symptoms.
